Researchers at University of Texas, Austin say heavy drinkers have a 42% higher risk of dying – in a 20 year follow up – compared to moderate drinkers. Unexpectedly teetoallers had a much higher risk at 49%.

So the conclusion is – People who Drink Like Fish live longer than teetotallers.

Scientists conducting the study analysed data of 1824 participants who were in the age group of 55-65.

Ufortunately this is not good news. According to a study supported by the French National Research Agency (ANR) – Beer Consumption Increases Human Attractiveness to Malaria Mosquitoes.

The subjects of this study were divided into 2 groups. 1 group consumed beer and the other one plain water. According to the study – despite individual volunteer variation, beer consumption consistently increased attractiveness to mosquitoes.

All volunteers were Burkinabe adult males aged between 20 and 43 years in good health and not using any medication. On the day of experiment the participants were asked not to smoke, drink alcohol or use deodorants. A total of 43 participants were randomly assigned to the beer (n = 25 volunteers) or the water groups (n = 18 volunteers).
